We begin our day by greeting each child as they come in to our classroom and they are encouraged to play with their friends and socialize for a bit. After they feel comfortable we ask small groups of children to start their rotation of 2 or 3 work stations. One of our Stations is an art table. We work on art daily to promote creativity, spacial concepts, hand eye coordination and fine motor skills. The second work table is a skill sheet working on letter or number concepts, colors, shapes, sequencing and much more. The third table is usually an independent work station with a variety of work such as coloring, painting, putting homework sheets together (homework will go out on Mon. or Tues. You will find it in the work your child brings home, It is an uncolored work sheet with a poem your child has glued to the back . Please read it to them and have them color it; when they come to school the next day they will earn a sticker for their work! : ).
Throughout our room we have manipulatives (educational games) out and encourage our kiddo's to do them to earn a sticker in their sticker chart. When they fill their sticker chart they can go into the treasure chest! Next we take a washroom break and clean our room. When the room is clean we gather in our quiet area where we discuss the Letter and Number of the week and review what we did so far that day. We then get into our circle time where we go over the alphabet in many fun ways and we do Calendar for number concepts. At this time we encourage the kids to implement all the "rules of school" they sit criss cross and raise their hands to answer questions.
On Thursdays and Fridays we do Show and Tell and we recite our pledge of Allegiance every day. Our "sharing sack" is a sack that each child will get from time to time to fill with something at home that begins with the letter of the week. We also read a book from the "book bag" everyday which a child also gets to bring home and fill with a book of their choice that begins with the letter of the week.
Snack time is next and we always try to serve healthy choice foods with a fruit or a veggies included as part of their snack.
After snack Music and Dance are a daily activity to promote good heath and gross motor skills.
At the end of class we gather our things and get ready to open our doors for pick
up! : )
Most all of what we do through out our day has an educational purpose and value; they are also meant to be FUN and encourage learning. We also try to encourage the dialog to continue at home by implementing the book bag, sharing can and homework sheets.
Please take the time to look over your child's preschool work. Positive reinforcement at home will make a huge difference in your child's educational success!
Please supply your child with a water bottle and a backpack everyday also please make sure to add your child's first and last name to both items. Also, PLEASE make sure you sign your child in when they come to school and out when you pick them up every day!
Holiday Weeks
We have four Big fun filled celebration weeks each year. They will be held for Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day and Easter. We also have many smaller celebrations and lots more fun!!!
Discipline and Positive Reinforcement
We give our kiddo's many friendly reminders to follow the "Rules of School" if the behavior continues throughout the day they will be given a time out for a min. or two. We always talk to the child about what he/she can do to improve their behavior and they are welcome to join the class again. If the behavior is an on going issue we will talk to the parent and ask for reinforcement from home.
We give our kiddo's LOTS of positive reinforcement! We give them praise for making good choices, trying their best, accomplishing skills and doing their work in many ways throughout the day. We use kind words, stickers, stamps, high fives, sticker charts, treasure box and so much more! : )
Progress Reports
We will be evaluating the children twice a year with progress reports. Once in the fall and once it the spring. We also encourage open lines of communication with our families; if you reach out we will always be happy to let you know how your child is doing in Preschool!
Transportation
Parents are responsible for bringing children to school and picking them up after school. If someone else is picking up your child please note that we will need to be notified prior to pick up and they will need to have their identification with them for us to release your child to them.

After much research, thought and consideration we feel that we have come up with a good plan to keep all of our kiddos healthy. We want you all to know that we take the safety and well being of our children and families very seriously! For this reason we will be implement the following:
*All surfaces, tables, chairs, toys, manipulative etc…will be sanitized, often throughout the day .
*Hand washing and hand sanitizing will be monitored and implemented often and when needed.
* Parents will bring a small snack daily instead of having a communal snack.
* If for any reason you have reservations about coming to preschool please note that we do have an amazing online (Home School) program if you or anyone you know would prefer that option.
We all look forward to a wonderful school year which begins August 1st. Despite the added precautions and accommodations we will strive to keep our school the safe and loving school environment it has always been!
We have purchased 2 medical grade air purifiers for our classroom!
The Medify Air MA-25 uses three levels of filtration to catch and remove allergens, pet dander, and more:
Pre-filter removes hair, fibers, and large particles like dander.
The high-efficiency H13 TRUE HEPA filter is tested to removed 99.9% of particles down to .01 microns. This medical-grade filter easily catches pollen, dust mites, and other tiny airborne particles you can’t see.
Substantial carbon filter with carbon pellets remove toxic odors, smoke, and formaldehyde.
* Coronavirus particles are .14 microns (very small) - These
air filters are the best on the market to clean air down to
0.1 microns (which will clean corona particles! )
One of these Air purifiers clean 600 square feet of space; we have purchased 2 and our classroom is 850 square feet!
